My colleague (Dr Carley Foster) and I from Nottingham Trent University, England are currently undertaking a research project that is looking at women who move from corporate marketing roles to self-employment. Preliminary findings echo this research. Women are reporting a 'trigger' event that is propelling them into self-employment. Care has to be taken in terms of the lure of flexibility because client requirements can impact upon this.
